Increase Article Traffic Conversions by De-Cluttering Your Website

Posted By Eric Gruber, Your Article Marketing Expert

Yesterday, my fiancee and I took this little 4 1/2 year old girl that Krissy used to babysit to Barnum and Bailey’s Ringling Brothers Circus. We arrived there early to see the pre-show where we able to go on to the circus floor.

In one area of the arena, they had jugglers. In another area, they had clowns and men dancing on stilts. In another area they had an elephant painting a picture and much more! We had no idea where to start — so we were going from one area to another!

Then, because the circus is a 3 ring circus, you had many things going on at once.  Our heads had to keep turning and our eyes moving because we didn’t know where to look next.

Now, at the circus this is exciting. And, you don’t mind, because no matter where you look — something amazing is happening. But, when it comes to your website, when you have so much going on, you confuse your readers.

Adam Hommey (The Website Surgeon) and I completed a website study and discovered that the #1 reason people leave a website is…

How to Increase Response and Stickiness on Your Blog with a Few Clicks

Posted By Eric Gruber, Your Article Marketing Expert

Did you know that even some of the world’s best copywriters and Internet marketers forget to do some simple lead capture techniques on their blog.. like placing an email opt-in form on the blog’s sidebar?

At the very least, you need to use your blog for lead capture. The problem with a blog (compared to a sales letter) is that there are links all over the place. It’s easy for people to get lost…you aren’t pushing them to any particular location.

For that reason, you should have email opt-in form (promising an ethical bribe) on your side bar. In your Wordpress dashboard, go to the widgets screen in the “appearance” section and add a text widget. This can include some HTML like your autoresponder sign up code. That way, people can sign up for your mailing list from any page on your blog.

Here’s an even better tip…

Create a new html page with nothing but your autoresponder sign up code on it. Then on the sidebar add an in-line frame (iframe) pointing to the URL of that signup page. That way when someone signs up on your list, the thanks for subscribing page will load inside that tiny iframe in your sidebar and allow people to stay on the same page of your blog.

For an even cooler effect….

Record a talking head video using your Flip camera and place it on the thank you page. Set it to autoplay.

Now when people opts into your list from your blog sidebar, they will get a personal message from you.

As fun as it might be to regularly update your blog, like I do at ArticleMarketingExperts.com, don’t forget the point of your blog is to get more leads and bring in sales. Because, you’re only softse-pitching offers on your blog, you need to get your visitors on your mailing list so you can deliver value and send them offers.

This is just 1 of about 2 dozen list building opportunities that most internet marketers miss.  For even more secrets on how to convert traffic into prospects and customers, check out my new website conversion course:

If you don’t give your users the ability to do what they want on your web site, they will go elsewhere, and you will lose the ability to interact with them and see what they have to say.
