1. Why would I want to submit my articles to other sites? I have them on my own site and my blog. Isn't that enough?

No, publishing your artcles on your own website and blog is not enough. You need to be found all over the Web. Here’s why you need to start submitting articles today:

First, the only people who see your articles will be the ones who visit your site. There are a lot of other sites out there that reach people who don't know that you are alive. When you submit articles to other sites, you'll reach new audiences.

Second, each time they print an article, you'll have another link pointing to your site. Readers can click the link to find your main site and read more about your products and services.

Third, they'll read your "bio box," a short summary describing who you are and what you do. It will always contain a link back to your website so readers can find you if they want to business with you.

2. Why would other sites want to print my articles? I don't want to print anyone else's articles on my site!

3. How can we submit the same article over and over?

There are millions of online publications and many more million readers. Many publications will use an already published article because the chance of someone seeing the same article twice is remote. Editors also take into consideration that they don’t pay for one-time rights so they cannot require a custom article. In addition, you can suggest publishers “wrap” your articles with comments at the top or bottom of the article in order to help them avoid a duplicate content penalty from search engines.

4. Will they edit my work?

Most sites are happy to print your articles word-for-word and include a link back to your website.

5. Can this help with my search engine positioning?

Yes. Every time a site prints your article, the link to your site will be posted. Search engines look for these links. When they rate your site, the number of inbound links to your site is a very important factor. The more links you have, the higher your site will rank.

10. Why should I hire someone to do this? I can do it myself.

11. Isn't submitting articles easy?

No. It is a difficult, time consuming task. Here's why. Different sites have different submission guidelines that cover nearly every aspect of submitting articles. For example, some sites allow HTML, while some do not. Some sites have a word limit either in the title, body, summary, or the byline, so you have to refit each article. Some sites have different formats requirements: Some say 65 characters per line, some say 60 characters per line, some say no text wrapping. Some sites limit the number of links in an article and in the byline box. Some sites do not like links at all in the article.

12. Couldn't I use software to automate this?

Yes, you can use software to automate PART of the task, but those programs don't do a lot of the work for you. You still have to go each site, register your username and password, confirm your information by email, then go to the site to enter your username, enter your password. Only then can you upload your article, but you still have to manually tell the site which category or topic area your article can be placed in. You also have to change the article to fit the formatting requirements of each site (see the previous answer for the excruciating details.) No software can do that for you.

Plain and simple, you don't just push a button and see your article uploaded to hundreds of sites. You still have to do a lot of handwork. Plus, those software programs only have about 200 sites and they might not have a good representation in your field of expertise. We have more than 1,000 sites that we'll submit your articles to. Also, some sites don't accept articles from software programs. They will only accept articles by hand. If the software worked flawlessly, we'd use it too! Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that you must do a lot of the work yourself.

13. Does your company submit articles by hand or by software?

We manually submit all articles. The highest rated websites will not accept articles delivered by software. They want unique content and they know that articles submitted by software will be sent to every site imaginable.

The article submission process can take up to 10 hours or more to submit one article to just 100 sites. This doesn’t count the proofing, editing, optimizing, consulting and following up. 22. How can I track my results?

Use Google's free clipping service. Go to www.google.com/alerts
In the form where it says "search terms" write the headline of your article and put it in quotation marks. While you're at it, use your name as a search term.

Lots of our clients have found articles this way. When Google spots the article, they will send you an email that contains a link to the article.

23. Do you track results for me?

No. Tracking results would take too much time and we'd have to charge you for it. That's why we suggest you use Google Alerts. You could also hire an online clipping service to monitor your results. They charge at least $300 per month plus a charge for every article find.

24. How long will it take to get results?

You should start to see results in 4-6 weeks. We submit articles at the rate of 25 sites every two weeks to be in compliance with Google's best practices. Remember that publishers have many articles to choose from, and they usually work a few weeks ahead of time. In other words, there are other articles that will run before yours will. Be patient and you'll see your results.

We submit to about 100 sites and article directories. On the average 60 sites will print your article. The more unique your message, the more sites will print it.
