If you complete article marketing the right way, you will most definitely build your list. Every single week, I get at least 50 to 200 new prospects per week. That’s even when I am on vacation when I do not submit any articles! But you need to know these article marketing list building secrets if you want to achieve the same results!

10 Things You Must Know if You Want to Build Your List with Articles

1. At the end of your articles, you must have a strong call to action! This means you can’t offer an ezine that’s only going to clutter my email inbox. 2. You must give readers a strong reason to visit your site and take advantage of your offer.  It is NOT good enough to just tell me that you have a free special report, free ebook, free templates, free v ideos, free articles or whatever you have to offer. You have to tell me how I will benefit.

3. Your need to make a connection between your call-to-action and your article. If you can’t make a connection between your article and your special offering, then neither will your audience. They’ll only wonder, why you want them to go to your website and get an offering that’s unrelated to their problem or need. Remember, they’re reading your article because there is some need !

4. Send people to a designated squeeze page. Most article marketers still try to send prospects to their main homepage with a little opt-in box in the corner. And, on this homepage there are a ton of other offers and opportunitiies. There are many actions prospects can take. Then these article marketers wonder why they’re not getting people to take action and sign up to be on their list.

5. Failure to create a squeeze page that converts.  Now, you don’t need an in-your-face type squeeze page like the one I develop (if it doesn’t work with your specific audience.) You can have a more consumerish, laid-bck squeeze page. 6.  You need to sell with your title. So… make an outrageous proposition, clearly state a benefit, or get controversial. Create a title that packs an emotional wallop!  

7. Make sure your special report or free offering doesn’t give the same old, regurgitated content.  Come on — why would I want to sign up for something that’s found everywhere else.

8. In your articles, clearly let people know that they must sign up for your special report to get even more information.  For example, you can  put…”Here Are Top 10 Out of the 100 Common Mistakes Found in My New Controversial Special Report (Add Title).”  After your discuss the mistakes, then you can mention…”If you are making these common mistakes, t’s not your fault. No one ever told you thr truth before. Now, in my free new special report, I reveal 100 top mistakes… I invite you grab this inormation now for free at: (url).”

9.   Failure to write articles and special reports for a specific audience.  If you want to connect with a specific audience then you need to write articles and create special free opportunities for a specific audience. You need to show them that your understand their specific needs.

10. You need to consistently write and submit articles online.  Think of your articles as lead generation agents working f or your 24/7/365. The more agents you have working for you (for free on a volunteer basis) the more leads you’ll get.
