New Article Writing Strategy Revealed: How to Create an Article That Is on Target Every Time
It is a shame to go through the effort of writing a great article and then have a bio box or a resource box that looks like an after-thought. These about the author sections do not turn readers into prospects and clients. Your resource box should be a pre-thought. In fact, many times I start my article with the bio box and work my way backwards.
How I Reverse Engineer My Article Based on the Results I Want
1. First I figure out exactly what my call-to-action is and why people should get my free special report, article templates, checklist, ebook, video or anything else I offer. See, if you want me to click on your website link at the end of the article, you have to tell me exactly why I should click. You can’t just tell me that you have a special report – I say, “So what? So does everyone else!”
2. Next, you have to figure out who your article will be written for. Who is your specific audience and what are their specific needs and wants? You want to add that audience within your first sentence of the bio box. For example: Article marketing expert Eric Gruber creates online marketplace opportunities for speakers who want to start booking more speaking engagements now by showing they are thought leaders within their industry.
3. Do you want to write an article to motivate audiences or reveal mistakes? If you want to write an article to motivate an audience using a case study, you may want to create a bio box like this one: Article marketing expert Eric Gruber helps consultants get more clients, just like technology consultant Dani Kaplan who just had his best year in 29 years of business. Now, you can get started with article writing and article marketing and start getting more leads – and all it takes is 30 minutes per day using Eric’s free instant article writing templates at: http://www.TryMyFreeArticleTemplates.com
If you want write an article that reveals mistakes and you have a special report that reveals how to avoid and fix these problems then you can create a bio box like this: Article marketing expert Eric Gruber helps small business owners like Mr. X avoid the article writing mistakes of (point a), (point b) and (point c). 4. Review your bio box. Now, just by looking at your bio box – you already know who your article’s audience will be and whether your article is meant to persuade, motivate, influence or change a reader’s actions or behavior. And, you know your call-to-action. This is vital information that will help you with the rest of the article as you want everything from the headline, to the body of the article to the bio box to your squeeze page to be connected in some way.
5. Write the conclusion of your article based on the information you find in your bio box. For example, if I want to write an article that motivates readers, I want to end my article showing strong results that my clients have achieved using my article writing and article marketing strategies. I’d mention how I helped Dr. Mark Hyman reach the top of the New York Times Best Sellers List or how my article marketing coaching helped leadership consultant Skip Weisman get a $25,000 new client. Of course, the case study I’d use depends on who my audience is that I describe in the bio box.
6. Now, start writing the meat of the article. The above the results, I’d give some of the “how” I helped my client or customer fix their problem and achieve the results that I explain in the conclusion. And, more importantly, I explain why they must take each action. Remember, I’m there to motivate audiences to take action.
Of course, you’d take a different direction if you’re writing article for another reason. I’m just giving you a formula to follow.
7. Start writing your introduction. Now, I have the bio box, the conclusion, and the tips. It’s time to introduce the article. I like to use a story that either describes a pain that the reader can connect with and motivate them to take action or I describe what their lives can be like and express the pleasure they want and can have if they follow my advice.
8. Create your title. Now read the article you just wrote. Now create a title that provides an outrageous proposition that you can fulfill with your article or give me a reason why readers should read their article.
